The Beginning

Founded with a Clear Vision

Dr. Sarah Chen and Maria Rodriguez met at a sports medicine conference in Denver. Both had noticed the same troubling pattern—CrossFit athletes were burning out from poor cardiovascular training approaches. Sarah brought her cardiology expertise, while Maria contributed her experience as a former Olympic weightlifter. Together, they launched Zenira from a small clinic in New Jersey, focusing on evidence-based cardio protocols specifically designed for high-intensity functional fitness.

Breaking Through

Research Recognition & Growth

Our breakthrough study on heart rate variability in CrossFit training gained international attention in the Journal of Sports Cardiology. This research validated what we'd been seeing clinically—traditional cardio approaches were actually hindering CrossFit performance. We expanded our team to include specialized exercise physiologists and launched our first comprehensive training programs. By the end of 2021, we were working with over 200 athletes across the East Coast.
